The Iron Fish Art Gallery is always open, even if its resident artist, Chase Allen, is not present. Chase has been featured in numerous Southern and Coastal Living publications and recently won a national “American Made” contest sponsored by the Martha Stewart magazine. Lots of interesting things to see here, and visitors enjoy exploring his art work in his outdoor gallery area. Chase also sells cool T-shirts and a few other items.

The Freeport General Store is located at the Freeport Marina (which includes the Old Daufuskie Crab Company) and carries snacks, soda, bottled water, and tourist gifts. The store also has an ATM (the only one on the island, and the service fee is very high) and an ice machine. You can usually find some basic food items here, but we don’t recommend you count on the store for any groceries that you really need/want at your vacation home.
