We are pleased to offer this great option for large family groups looking for an ocean-front option on Daufuskie Island! Situated on the Melrose Beach, the newly-listed Daufuskie Beach Overlook House is represented by Daufuskie Rental Group, known for beautiful vacation homes and superior guest service.
The Daufuskie Beach Overlook House is one of the few Daufuskie Melrose beach properties that is NOT a duplex. A freestanding property with four bedrooms and four baths, the house provides a spacious living space designed with families in mind. It includes a number of seating/relaxing areas, three dining tables, sleeping accommodations for 12 people, and a large three-sided screened-in porch directly facing the Atlantic ocean and the beautiful Melrose beach. (Quite honestly, the house has the best beach view of any nearby property.
The Beach Overlook House has all modern conveniences including a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV service, high speed internet, washer/dryer, microwave, barbecue grill, beach chairs, beach umbrella, and much more. We have recently added a daybed and trundle twin bed and two new dining tables.
Note that the internet as been upgraded to hi-speed fiber optics, and that cable TV is provided for all 5 TVs in the cottage.

As mentioned, the HOUSE has one of the most desirable porches on the Melrose on the Beach cottage row! It is an extended porch 3-sided that has been upgraded to include a comfortable seating area for a family group and an 8 person dining table. And it looks directly onto the sandy Melrose beach and the Atlantic ocean! Short and simple, it's a WOW view. Everyone can gather in the morning to sip coffee and enjoy a spectacular beach sunrise.
There is also a second porch with comfortable chairs overlooking the Melrose Cottage Row side and providing another pleasant location for relaxing and reading.

The wildlife is abundant and breathtaking. The resort is the home of a Great White Egret rookery, where you will see hundreds of these graceful birds settle in for the night. A nest of American Bald Eagles can be seen now and then, and some lucky visitors can actually catch site of a Loggerhead Turtle coming ashore to lay hundreds of eggs in the soft sand.
You will want to spend time exploring the rest of this unique and special island. Accessible only by ferry, Daufuskie's isolation from the hustle and bustle of the mainland provides a one-of-its-kind experience for those looking to truly get away from it all.
